If you are the owner of a gite or other rental property, you have a simple goal when marketing your property. Attracting customers at the lowest cost possible.

As part of this marketing effort you need a website, so that you can easily supply your potential customers with all relevant information, and provide more information than a normal advert. You can give people your website address when they ask, and use your website address on your brochure or in your press adverts.

You need the website to be informative and attractive. You need it to be a 'personal' website. You don't want to pay very much for it, and you need it quickly.

The first step is to have a look at other people's websites for their gites and rental properties, as if you were a holidaymaker. It is easy to find lots of other websites to examine by searching in Google with the word 'gite' or 'villa' and the name of your local town e.g. gite in Villereal.

Decide what you like about the sites you see, and what you don't like. Is the background too obtrusive? Is the information you need easy to find? Are there enough pictures? Try and look at quite a few sites, and make a list of those features that you particularly like.
